ROVINJ - Race Two of the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship takes place in Rovinj between 12 and 13 April. As the first European stop for 2014, Rovinj marks the Red Bull Air Race World Championship's inaugural visit to Croatia, with the Adriatic coastal town sure to provide a thrilling follow-up to Race One in Abu Dhabi. Croatia itself has a long tradition in aviation and, thanks to the local Mediterranean climate and abundance of quaint airport strips, many active sports pilots are able to hone their skills in the region all year round. The enchanting and historic town of Rovinj is situated on a peninsular that juts out into the sparkling Adriatic Sea. The challenging racetrack in Rovinj will be set up along the north beach close to the old town and will feature tight turns and plenty of high G. The Adriatic Coast on which Rovinj lies is sub|ect lo the Bura wind, a gusty and tempestuous phenomenon that has the potential to wreak havoc. In addition, Rovinj is also a Red Bull Air Race World Championship first, meaning the pilots have never flown the racetrack before.

There are few sporting venues in the world that can match the history of Ascot Racecourse. This year the Red Bull Air Race pilots will test their mettle where many a great jockey has gone before, as the race takes place over the Jumps track. This course is a right-handed course and slightly in excess of one mile six furlongs. Ascot is famed for being a tough course with its triangular nature and large sweeping turns; a challenging task ahead for the competitors. Ascot is situated in beautiful wooded countryside, not far from London, and depicts an idyllic portrait of traditional British sporting heritage. Without doubt the centrepiece of the village is its famous racecourse, which has put Ascot on the global map and dates to the 1700s. Each June, the village welcomes thousands of spectators to Royal Ascot, the most famous event in the horseracing calendar. Royal Ascot is Europe's premier flat race meeting and the social highlight of the British summer.
